What happens here
can only happen here
One of wine’s many mysteries is how the same equipment, labor, and vision can produce something entirely different the next hill over.
For us, that begins 10 miles away in the ocean. Within Monterey Bay one of the world’s deepest canyons sends fog to blanket the mornings before sun illuminates the inland valley. Those temperature swings are perfect for our vineyards, perched near the Santa Lucia Mountains in the thin, rocky soil of the Carmel Valley Appellation.
Today in California winemaking, cool is in. Cooler climates are producing some of the most unique wines throughout the Central Coast. As the climate changes, Holman Ranch is in the right place at the right time, producing site-specific wine and olive oil with sustainable, ethical, and low-intervention land practices.

On the south-facing hill in our vineyard, a pristine grove of 100 trees produces our renowned organic olive oil. Harvested by hand, six cultivars of olives create a mature flavor balance in the traditional Tuscan style. Available in our online store while supplies last.
